Maria is a tech entrepreneur and angel investor from Barcelona with lots of experience in building teams and products from scratch.

She has been building tech/internet companies as founder or first employee for 12 years and the last 5 years she has focused more on Finance, M&A and investments, her academic background being a MSc in Finance & Accounting, a Master in Communications Management and a Postgraduate in Marketing Management.

She is well versed with agile methodologies, pitching and fundraising, investing, financial tracking, scaling, entering new markets, team dynamics, online marketing etc. for software as a service and other digital-first companies.

In 2016 together with 3 other partners, Maria started Nuclio Venture Builder in Barcelona that has become one of the main tech company builders in Spain. Nuclio co-founded companies such as Housfy, Hastee, Finteca and their own Digital school.

Maria’s career in tech started in 2010 when she joined a Saas startup in the hospitality space as the first employee after which she went on to co-found her own startup in 2011 offering mobile websites to customers in Barcelona and Amsterdam in the early days of the mobile web. She has since worked for another startup in the travel space and in 2013, while living in Copenhagen, she started an NGO organizing programming workshops for women to address the gender gap in the tech industry.
