Scott Stonham
About this mentor
Over the last 25 years, Scott has helped bring to life innovations we take for granted today. During his tenure at Vodafone Group he helped develop and deploy Mobile Internet technologies, Mobile Advertising and Location Based Services across 26 operating countries. Working for Qualcomm he helped create the market for GPS, smartphone navigation and 3D graphics in smartphones.
Since then he has worked for, established and exited start-ups and scale-up businesses across the UK, EU and USA. After exiting an acquisition by London’s IHS Markit, Scott co-founded both, InnovationScouts where he serves as CTIO, and Well, That’s Interesting Tech! where he serves as the Principal Analyst, Content Creator and Connector of Interesting People.
Scott’s accomplishments and experience bridge technology, marketing and commercial domains, currently he provides holistic advice across the domains to several UK & European technology start-ups.
Scott serves as a non-executive director to the UK’s further education organisation, the Association of Colleges, is a member of the Tech London Advocates (TLA) and Global Tech Advocates (GTA).
Scott is a category judge for the prestigious Mobile World Congress awards, the GLOMOs, this year he will be judging two categories, “Outstanding Mobile Contribution to the UN SDGs” and “Best Mobile Innovation for Climate Action”.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys developing ideas and innovations, spending time with his young family and marveling in the natural world around him.
