Dr. Selin Öner-Kula carries an interdisciplinary background with >15 years of professional experience in finance (including two large corporates & an investment bank) with key responsibilities in equity research, corporate finance, business development; coordinating investments & funding, M&A and partnerships with completed deals >€1.1bn. With an interest and focus in the use of the digital sphere for good, she completed a Ph.D. in Communication at Bilgi University, Turkey, and specialized in digital- ethics & trust, platform organizations, sharing economy/crowdfunding, and sustainable finance. Since then she decided to follow the path of impact work, and currently holds several positions: a Postdoc Researcher at the WU – Vienna University of Economics and Business (Management Dept./Ethics in Management) researching digital innovations, ethics and sustainability; Director of Funding & Strategy / Board member at Jamba Austria – a young non-profit organization working on accessible e-learning and remote jobs platform for people with disabilities – where she leads both the research & innovation process and strategy, and an Independent Expert Evaluator for the European Commission Accelerator Program, evaluating startups’/SMEs’ funding applications. Through these works, she aspires to create meaningful bridges between both research & innovation and funding, and (impact) organizations and the sustainable business (&revenue) models. Dr. Oner-Kula holds a BA in Economics (with a minor in Mathematics) from Sabanci University in Istanbul, MSc in Finance from University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
