AquaFarms Africa is an agritech company specializing in aquaponics franchise systems with operations based in Guinea. Aquaponics is a marriage of fish farming and soil-less agriculture in a highly-efficient integrated ecosystem. We train our franchisees to manage the production, while we manage the rest of the operational value chain. To reduce management costs, franchisees leverage our proprietary app for data aggregation of clients, quality control, logistical management and accounting.

AquaFarms Africa's Story

70% of food products consumed in Africa are imported. We don’t own our food, and this represents billions of dollars lost from our local economies. Companies that import fresh produce complain of inefficiency of both imports and local produce. Across West Africa, agricultural growth is limited by many environmental and structural issues that reduce capacity to supply the local market. In addition, about 60% of African youth are unemployed and left out of the rapid urbanization of the continent.

What if we could design an agricultural system that produces year-round, conserves 95% water, is climate controlled to produce regardless of country conditions, and increases productivity per square meter by 10 times? From this concept, AquaFarms Africa was born.
