Byewaste
We simplify the reuse and recycling of non-traditional household waste such as electronics, books, toys and textiles by citizens from their homes. Objects that are in good condition are shared in a dedicated online circular economy marketplace or otherwise recycled. The platform connects citizens with other citizens, recyclers and large thrift store chains interested in these items.
Byewaste's Story
The Byewaste team currently consists of three founders: Francisco Rivera (COO), Tommaso Troiani (CEO), Riccardo Testa (CTO) and 4 junior developers. Dr Rivera was previously a postdoc – at TU Delft – and worked on a project involving recycling and waste management ( https://www.tudelft.nl/citg/over-faculteit/afdelingen/engineering-structures/sections- labs/resources-recycling/researc h-innovation/recycling-technologies/incinerator-bottom- ash-recycling/) Together with Francisco, Tommaso worked at the Resources and recycling group at TU Delft, one of the leading research groups on sustainability in the world. During his academic career, Tommaso coordinated an international recycling initiative in Asia. Since 2017 he has been working as an entrepreneur and has co-founded Swabit, another tech startup https://siliconcanals.com/news/rotterdam-startup-swabit-whatsapp-slack/ . Riccardo is an experienced and complete iOS and Android developer. During his career, he has developed multiple apps and led technology teams across several startups. Riccardo is responsible for coordinating the work of our developers.
