Elonroad
Elonroad is a high-tech electric road concept. It auto charges all types of electric vehicles when parked as well as when driving. Electric roads extend the driving range and reduce the need for large and heavy batteries. ELONROAD involves a conductive rail laid on top of the road. A conductive pick-up under the vehicle connects to the electric rail via sliding contacts. The rail is only active when covered by the vehicle, which makes it safe in city environment.
Elonroad's Story
Our vision is to electrify the entire transport sector and make fossil fuel a thing of the past. With clean energy from the sun, wind, and sea in an emerging charging infrastructure that is accessible for everyone, and with gradually more and more self-driving vehicles shared in a smart way, drastically reduced CO2 emissions will follow. Elonroad wants to contribute to a green transport sector and we believe have to change the way we move people and cargo. To stop the climate crisis we need vehicles to run on electricity, we need the electricity to be green and we have to be effective.
Electric vehicles are 4 times more effective but batteries are not yet as energy efficient as fuel.
With electric roads as the main charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, we can reduce battery size by 60% and still get a longer range. We use the batteries to get to and from the electric roads.
