Forests have a huge potential to mitigate climate change at scale, while providing substantial co-benefits (biodiversity, social, water).

Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) is a cornerstone underpinning impactful climate action across the globe. However, conventional MRV systems substantially rely on manual data entry and management, making them quite cumbersome, prone to error, inaccurate and costly to implement.

Kanop aims to facilitate carbon initiatives by digitizing and automating MRV for nature-based climate solutions. Our independent MRV platform offers an efficient, reliable and user-friendly solution to organizations that need it: project developers, standards, registries, and offset buyers.

We leverage satellite data and state-of-the-art AI models to build forest digital twins so we can accurately quantify and monitor ecosystem services that forests provide.

kanop's Story

The company is cofounded by Romain Fau and Louis de Vitry and have been working full time on kanop for 6 months. Both are very concerned by climate change and joined their forces to bring their contribution to the most urgent problem of our times.

Forest is the largest actionable natural resource to sequester carbon. We want to enable more project developers and forest owners to receive funding for providing more ecosystem services.
