Neology proposes to leverage ammonia as the energy vector, to carry and store hydrogen in a more efficient form. Hydrogen is an abundant but fickle gas, making its supply chain and usage expensive and complex. Using ammonia instead throughout the supply chain and cracking it into hydrogen at the last point makes the entire ecosystem much more efficient. Neology brings the proprietary technology of ammonia cracking, which extracts and purifies hydrogen from ammonia. Such technology has both mobile and stationary applications.

Neology's Story

As a result of human activities, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are increasing year by year, with 50 Gt emitted in 2020. 17% of these emissions come from transportation, with roughly half coming from commercial transportation (heavy-duty vehicles, maritime and aviation), where no large-scale long-lasting carbon-free energy solution exists today. In 2021, heavy-duty vehicles (HDVs) were responsible for 5% of global GHG.

Hydrogen is difficult to store, expensive to move and impossible to transport over long distances. At Neology, we bring efficient ammonia cracking, at low temperature with inexpensive materials, enabling these issues to be solved by using ammonia in the supply chain instead, and cracking it at the point of use. This reduces Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) by over 25% and enables the proliferation of green hydrogen globally.
