Unify
Unify uses technology to connect donors directly to the homeless community so donations can be received and stored to a secure profile unique to the person experiencing homelessness. Unify partners with homeless charities who create a Unify profile and distribute an RFID wristband and a restricted pre-payment card linked to the individual’s profile. Donations can either be received with a contactless tap on the band or in the app through Unify Sofa-Giving.
Unify 's Story
Growing up in Blackpool I was exposed first-hand to poverty which only seemed to deteriorate year in year out. I knew that nothing was going to get better and that people need help. Throughout university in Leeds, and on to work in London, I noticed my pockets with less and less physical cash, and if this was this way for me, I knew everyone else must be experiencing the same thing, leaving the people reliant on cash handouts for survival with empty pockets too. Originally Unify was just a band and an app but since developing Unify it’s a much more well-rounded solution that can be easily scaled to all homeless communities, wherever it’s needed.
