About the speaker
Dr. Selin Öner-Kula carries an interdisciplinary background and 15 years of professional experience in finance (in two large corporates and an investment bank) with key responsibilities in corporate finance, business development, and investor relations coordinating investments & funding, M&A and partnerships with completed deals of €1.1bn. With an interest in the emerging online methods that can fill the gaps in conventional methods and facilitate more accessible & sustainable funding, she also specialized in digital businesses and platform organizations through a doctorate study. She focuses on platform economics, online trust-formation, digital participation, sharing economy, and crowdfunding. She is an Independent Expert for the European Commission Accelerator Program, evaluating startups’/SMEs’ funding applications, a Lecturer at the Department of Media at Istanbul Bilgi University, and a Guest Researcher at WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Management Department/Organization Studies). Dr. Öner-Kula holds a BA in Economics from Sabanci University in Istanbul, MSc in Finance from University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
